How does Prana use Apple Watch heart-rate context?

After you enable Apple Watch heart rate and finish setup, Prana can show heart-rate context during sessions. It is personal wellness context, not medical advice, diagnosis, or monitoring.

Updated

Set up Apple Watch heart rate separately

To use live heart-rate context, pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone, install Prana on the watch, enable Apple Watch heart rate in Prana Settings, and allow access to Heart Rate and Workouts in Apple Health.

When setup is complete, Prana uses a Watch workout during a session to receive available heart-rate samples. A reading can be missing when the watch is not worn or data is unavailable.

The feature is optional. Prana’s guided breathing sessions can be used without Apple Watch heart-rate context.

What heart-rate context does not mean

A change in heart rate around a breathing practice is not a diagnosis or a medical assessment. Do not use Prana or Apple Watch metrics to make treatment decisions or to replace professional medical advice.

Can Prana diagnose a health condition from heart-rate context?

No. Prana’s Apple Watch heart-rate context is a wellness feature and is not medical care, diagnosis, or monitoring.

Why is heart rate missing from a session?

Check that your watch is paired, Prana is installed on it, Apple Watch heart rate is enabled in Prana, and the watch was worn during the session. A heart-rate sample is not guaranteed for every session.
